Rob Scholte is one of the most important Dutch painters. His work is controversial. He arranges and places images from the mass media and from his own extensive archive in a new context. In 2013, he gets the chance to temporarily settle in an empty main post office in Den Helder. He starts the Rob Scholte Museum there. When the municipality wants to reclaim the property, he refuses to leave. After years of struggle, the property is vacated in April 2018. Scholte goes through a deep valley but does not give up. He continues to litigate because one day he will return to his museum, he believes.
